Plant accurate rows
The goal of all producers is to have inputs, such as seed or fertilizer, placed into the ground in the most accurate way possible. With the increasing cost of inputs and adoption of farming practices that need precision, such as strip-till applications, accuracy at the implement has become increasingly important.
AutoTrac Implement Guidance helps maximize the use of inputs by increasing accuracy and repeatability at the implement thanks to a second receiver on the implement. Having a second StarFire™ receiver located on the implement allows the tractor to guide the implement through the field with additional accuracy, even on curved passes and sloping terrain. AutoTrac Implement Guidance (passive) commands the tractor to the correct location to keep the implement on the guidance line. In applications utilizing AutoTrac Implement Guidance, seeds are more consistently placed to take full advantage of pre-applied nutrients. This level of precision allows implement guidance to reduce overall input costs.
Back it up
AutoTrac Implement Guidance now supports reverse machine operation, making it easier for any operator to back up implements with greater precision and speed.
Reverse functionality will also:
- Decrease the frequency of repositioning the implement, which reduces overall operational time.
- Result in straighter rows that are easier to spray and harvest later in the season.
- Lower the risk of jack-knifing incidents. *
- Enable less experienced operators to assist with planting and allow them to perform like seasoned veterans.
- Reduce operator stress and enhance performance, particularly when backing large implements, such as a large planters, into field corners or when navigating obstacles near the field’s boundary.
Confidently back an implement straight into a field corner using ATIG reverse functionality
To use ATIG for precise implement guidance while operating in reverse, we recommend that users drive approximately 2 MPH and not exceed 4 MPH for optimal performance.
Using this function is easy.
- Toggle ATIG on and reverse the machine toward the desired guidance line.
- Press AutoTrac resume and enjoy hands free reverse until you reach the edge of the field boundary or until you're ready to move forward.
- Shift your machine back into forward gear and continue to follow the guidance track precisely with the implement as you move through the field.
The machine remains acquired and precisely aligned on the guidance line as the machine switches between forward and reverse, ensuring a seamless in-cab experience.
ATIG reverse functionality compatibility is follows:
Machines:
- MY20.5 and newer 7R Series Tractors
- MY20.5 and newer 8R Series Tractors
- MY22 and newer 9R Series Tractors
Supported Implement Configurations:
- Drawn implements (examples: disc, planters)
- Single implement configuration
Unsupported Implement Configurations:
- Hitch Mounted (rigid/non-pivoting) implements (example: 3-pt ripper)
- Multiple train implements (example: TBT or TBH Air Carts)
*There is no jack-knife prevention built into the ATIG system.
